We're so proud of our AFSCME colleagues who held the line for 28 days and were able to come away with a contract that the majority felt is acceptable. We're also pi**ed that it took so long for ISU Admin to do the right thing, but it was an inspiration to witness the resolve of our labor siblings.

ISU Admin has shown us how they plan to treat their unionized employees. We watched, learned, and took notes, and we're getting ready for 2028 when we bargain our next contract.

AFSCME said more than 95% of the 300-plus affected workers who cast votes approved the deal. The five-year contract still needs formal approval from the university. The board of trustees is scheduled to meet on Friday.

💪💪 AFSCME UPDATE! 💪💪

After nearly 13 hours of bargaining, AFSCME Council 31 Local 1110 and ISU Admin came to a tentative agreement shortly before midnight. Members will be meeting today to learn the details and vote on the new collective bargaining agreement.

After nearly a month on strike, we hope that ISU Admin did the right thing and settled a fair contract for our AFSCME siblings.

ISU Admin are tanking our university's reputation by continuing to stall negotiations and refusing to bargain standard contract items (while also lying about it via campus-wide emails). The next long-awaited negotiation session is set for tomorrow, and we hope President Tarhule does the right thing and settles this contract to end the strike.

🪧📣 PEOPLE OVER PROFITS! 📣🪧

Thank you to ISU Labor Coalition members and supporters who came out for the Illinois Federation of Teachers May Day rally yesterday. We made a lot of noise walking around the quad and to Uptown Circle. Speeches focused on supporting our AFSCME Council 31 Local 1110 colleagues who are still on strike and on the need for more equitable funding for public higher education in Illinois. It's always great to stand in solidarity with our union siblings. 💪💪💪
