Kings Choir

Kings Choir Choral Non-Profit Group serving Hampton Roads When you visit us, we will connect you with a section leader, and welcome and orient you to the choir.

General Overview:

We invite you to visit rehearsal on the 1st, 2nd, 4th or 5th Thursday of the month to get an idea of what it is like to be a member. King’s Choir is a community of singers, and we welcome all who love to sing! Auditions are not a prerequisite to joining, but are helpful in placement within the choir. We have some very accomplished musicians who read proficiently, and others who

are at various stages of music literacy. There is room for everyone with a desire to learn and to skillfully sing and put forth their best effort! King’s Choir rehearses on Thursday mornings at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 150 Kempsville Road, Norfolk 23502. We meet in the Fellowship Hall from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The third Thursday of each month, we go out into the community to sing for residents at various nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and retirement homes. We also sing for local church and community events. For those who are unavailable to rehearse on Thursday mornings, or who wish to have extra rehearsal time, we offer some Monday evening rehearsals-(6:30 pm-8 pm). You may find the upcoming dates on our website: https://www.kingschoir.org/calendar. Please contact us for more information @ kingschoir.org

🎶💙 The third Thursday of each month (10:30-11:30 am) has become a cherished tradition for King's Choir and one of the highlights of our ministry calendar. It's a day when we have the privilege of taking music, encouragement, and friendship into senior living communities throughout Hampton Roads as we "Share the Joy."

Last week, that journey brought us to Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor, where we enjoyed a wonderful morning with the residents and staff. There is something special about seeing familiar hymns spark memories, watching faces light up during a favorite gospel song, and sharing conversations with new friends. These moments remind us that music is one of God's sweetest gifts—capable of encouraging hearts, strengthening spirits, and bringing people together.

We are grateful to the Lord for every opportunity to serve through music and for the many friendships we've made along the way.

A heartfelt thank you to Robert Frazier for these wonderful photos, and to you and your outstanding staff for the love, compassion, and care you show the residents of Cedar Manor each day. It was a joy to spend time with you all!

And now we'd love to hear from you! 🎵 What is a hymn, gospel song, or cherished musical memory that still brings a smile to your face? Please share it with us in the comments below.

And if you're an Activities Director looking for uplifting musical programming for your residents, we'd be delighted to connect with you. Visit kingschoir.org to learn more about bringing King's Choir to your community.

Some people think choirs simply meet, rehearse,, and perform concerts.

But King’s Choir is so much more--a vibrant lifestyle of music ministry, friendship, encouragement, teamwork, and serving together throughout Hampton Roads.

Here's a little glimpse of May 14th --rehearsal, our wonderful members celebrating May-June birthdays, and our afternoon hospital ministry. This is King’s Choir. Music to feed the soul… and hearts joined together in ministry. 🎶 💙

We’re still reflecting on the sweet evening the Lord gave us last Sunday at Colonial Baptist Church. What a joy it is to gather and sing—not for ourselves, but for the Audience of One.
A heartfelt thank you to our friend David O’Dell for capturing these treasured moments so beautifully!
To our many friends who joined us—and the new friends we had the joy of meeting—thank you! Your presence is such an encouragement to us.
We’re sharing these photos in hopes they’ll be a blessing to you—a glimpse of a special evening where the Lord met us in a very sweet way.
“Not to us, O Lord… but to Your name give glory.” (Psalm 115:1)
