Today, we had the honor of celebrating the 79th Birthday of the United States Air Force at the USO Norfolk International Airport! 🇺🇸✈️🎂
We are incredibly proud to serve those who serve our nation and grateful for every opportunity to celebrate our military members, and their families. At the USO, we know that behind every uniform is a story of dedication, sacrifice, courage, and service and today, we had a very special story to share.

Our wonderful volunteer, Amy, took a moment to remember her husband, Bill, and his 26 years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, Bill went on to build an incredible career in the Air Force. He served two tours in Vietnam, one as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) pilot and another as an F-105 pilot.

Bill eventually returned to Norfolk, where he completed his Air Force career and retired at the Armed Forces Staff College. His story is a beautiful reminder of the many generations of service members who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country, as well as the families who stood beside them throughout their years of service. 🇺🇸❤️
And, of course, what better way to celebrate a birthday than with cake! 🎂 We had the opportunity to share a delicious birthday cake with our wonderful USO airport family, along with patrons passing through Norfolk International Airport.

Happy birthday USAF!

Today, the Norfolk USO Team had the incredible pleasure of welcoming Darchina and Michele from Mary Kay for an amazing visit and an even more meaningful donation!

Together, they generously donated more than 45 self-care packages filled with beauty and personal care items for our men and women in uniform. Their thoughtful gesture is a beautiful reminder that those who wear the uniform deserve to be pampered, appreciated, and reminded that they are loved and supported.
The USO is proud to serve as a bridge between generous community partners and the military community, helping connect those who want to give back with the service members who benefit from their kindness and generosity.
It is always such a pleasure, and a true point of pride, when local businesses and organizations, as well as companies from around the world, choose the USO as a trusted partner to reach our military community and make a difference.

To the MARY KAY team, Darchina Dunston and Michele, and everyone who helped sponsor these wonderful care packages: THANK YOU! Your generosity, kindness, and support mean so much to those who serve our country.

Thank you for helping us remind our service members that their community stands behind them, appreciates them, and cares for them.m

What an amazing evening we had with our USO ORF Volunteers!
Last week our team came together for a special volunteer meeting where everyone had the opportunity to meet one another, share a delicious dinner, connect and participate to a valuable in-person training led by Center Director Hajer Fares and Senior Area Manager Kenneth Miller. It was also a meaningful opportunity to say THANK YOU to our volunteers for the time, the heart and dedication they give to the military community! Their commitment to giving back and serving those who serve makes a huge difference 🤍.
A huge thank you to United Way of South Hampton Roads and Kim Dodson for generously providing our team the space to gather as well as sharing insights about United Way and the incredible partnership they provide the USO with.
The volunteers are the backbone of the USO and we are grateful for the outstanding team we have!
