Hampton Roads Community Foundation Scholarships Our generous donors love helping students achieve their full potential. That’s why they entrust us to administer permanent scholarship funds in their name.

Most scholarships are for students from South Hampton Roads. The Hampton Roads Community Foundation is the largest grant and scholarship provider in southeastern Virginia. We put our donor's money to good work by helping just about every area nonprofit you can think of -- from arts groups to homeless shelters. We are experts on local nonprofits and we connect our donors to the causes that matter to them. At the Hampton Roads Community Foundation you don't have to be super wealthy to be a philanthropist. Our donors come from all walks of life and include teachers, a composer, a seamstress and a telephone operator and have provided us the resources to award grants to hundreds of area nonprofits and college students each year.

Every year, we award scholarships to students throughout the region. Charitable people have established more than 120 scholarship endowments with us -- their generosity has helped generations of students pursue higher education in all kinds of fields. First generation college students -- students for whom neither parent has a college degree -- make up 36 percent of those who received awards this year.
