Subject areas include Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Writing and Mathematics. We implement instructional strategies that are research based. We use Virginia Standards of Learning and Common Core Curriculum as basic guidelines, but also take into account the strengths of the students. Other classes include Bible, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Art and Music. There is a computer lab where
students take a class in keyboarding and Microsoft Office. The lab is also used frequently during various class times
Class Size and Professional Staff: Our homerooms have a maximum of 12 students. Group sizes range from 1-6 students with a teacher. Our core teachers are degreed and have professional licensure. Our enrichment teachers are all qualified to teach from their professional expertise. We have aides and volunteers from the local universities to keep our teacher-student ratio very low. Our Values:
