Same Steps. Different Generation. ✊🏽

The Urban League of Hampton Roads will be in Richmond, VA this Saturday to march alongside the NAACP Virginia State Conference for the National Day of Action for Voting Rights. One of the key coordinators is Gaylene Kanoyton, President of the Hampton NAACP and a valued member of our own Hampton Roads Urban League Board of Directors. Her leadership reflects the kind of cross-organizational partnership that moves communities forward.

Saturday launches a sustained national effort rooted in the legacy of Freedom Summer. Faith leaders, civil rights organizations, labor, students, creators, and elected officials, all moving together around one shared goal: defending and expanding Black political power.

Our ancestors marched so we could vote. We march so our children can keep that right.

All roads lead to Richmond. Come march with us.

πŸ“ March Meet-Up: 7th and Broad St., Richmond, VA at 2:00 PM
πŸ›οΈ Voting Rights Rally: Bell Tower at the Virginia Capitol Grounds, 101 N 9th St. at 2:45 PM

When the right resources and the right people are in the same room, real opportunities happen. That's why the Urban League of Hampton Roads is proud to support the LGBT Life Center's "Spring Into Your Career" Job & Resource Fair on May 7 because our community deserves direct access to both. 🀝

This FREE event brings job seekers face to face with employers and community partners across Hampton Roads.
