"2024 was the first year my 13 and 15 year old children (son and daughter) participated in the Wooden Boat Workshop and they are excited to come back for more! They learned valuable skills and always came away talking about being able to try using new tools, and what they learned while in class. The instructors were patient with the students while still setting firm boundaries for safety, creating an environment where the kids were safe to make mistakes but also had guidance nearby to help them find the solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity that my children would not have been able to participate in if it was cost prohibitive. As a mom of 8 children, our budget is very tight and I'm so grateful for classes like these and instructors who are willing to put in time and effort to help the local children learn skills most of their parents just don't have. ~Melissa Edens"
