Northern Ponca Housing Authority NPHA provides sustainable housing, homeownership & community development services. Our current rental occupancy rate is 89%.

The Northern Ponca Housing Authority was created under Ordinance of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. In January 1993, the Housing Authority board was appointed by the Tribal Council, and policies and procedures were established prior to applying for grants. The Northern Ponca Housing Authority offers low-income housing, down payment assistance, a 5 year lease with option to purchase program, home owne

rship home improvement assistance and a residential opportunity for self-sufficiency program. The Northern Ponca Housing Authority currently owns 138 units, and as of January 2009, includes 10 tax credit homes in Omaha, NE. The NPHA low-income housing is open to the native community and own and operate units in Omaha, Bellevue, Lincoln, Norfolk, Battle Creek, Columbus and Niobrara, NE, as well as Wagner, SD, and Sioux City and Council Bluff, IA. The NPHA has also assisted over 40 families with purchasing their own homes through the down payment assistance program. NPHA currently has 20 employees on staff to help with admissions and occupancy, day to day rental issues, maintenance, resident counseling, home buyer counseling, accounting, public relations and many other administrative and secretarial duties provided by the Housing Authority.

Yesterday, we celebrated another incredible milestone as our second Down Payment Assistance homebuyer of the year received the keys to her new home.

In Keli's words:

“Yesterday was a monumental day for me and my daughter. I can’t thank you and the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska for offering this opportunity to our community. I woke up a homeowner! I just wanted to express my gratitude and acknowledge how big of a deal this is—even what it means to have safety and stability.”

Last Friday, we had the privilege of celebrating our first Down Payment Assistance homebuyer of the year! 🏡

We are proud to recognize this milestone and congratulate a proud Ponca Tribe member and his wife on achieving homeownership. Their hard work, perseverance, and commitment have made this accomplishment possible, and we couldn't be happier for them.

We are honored to have been part of their journey and wish them many years of happiness, success, and cherished memories in their new home. May it be a place filled with comfort, laughter, and countless blessings.
