Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for ALL Mankind. Serving the communities of Norfolk and VA Beach. Brother Norman L.

Alpha Phi Lambda began some fifteen (15) years before its actual founding when another chapter, Zeta Lambda was formed in Norfolk, Virginia on April 3, 1920. A delegation from Gamma Chapter at Virginia Union University was present. McGhee, the general secretary of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, made the chapter. Zeta Lambda became the twenty-seventh chapter of the Fraternity and the sixth graduate chapter. It is the oldest graduate chapter in Virginia. It has the record of being the graduate chapter with the longest continued active membership in Alpha Phi Alpha.

🤙🏾🖤💛

Connecting our scholars with mentors, career guidance, and life-changing experiences is at the core of our mission.

Every dollar donated to our youth programs goes directly back into empowering our students—from local mentorship to educational trips like visiting the African American Museum in Washington, D.C.

When we pour into our youth, we build a stronger community for tomorrow.

Three events. One weekend. One commitment to community. 🤙🏾

This weekend, the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, Alpha Phi Lambda, Epsilon Pi, and Phi Alpha Chapters were active across our communities, from a successful Virtual Candidate Town Hall, to caring for the grounds around the MLK Monument, to fellowship and wellness at Mount Trashmore.

At the Town Hall, candidates spoke about the importance of investing in our communities and our youth. This weekend was a reminder that investment takes many forms: being informed, serving our neighborhoods, strengthening our brotherhood, and showing up for the next generation.

Now, we carry that momentum forward.

🌟 Join us September 26 for the 31st Annual Inspirational Youth Breakfast as we continue investing in young men throughout our community.
