Tidewater Classical Guitar Tidewater Classical Guitar is dedicated to enriching the community by cultivating the awareness and a The TCGS was incorporated in Virginia in January, 1985.

The Tidewater Classical Guitar Society is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 1984 to provide cultural and educational opportunities to those interested in the classical guitar. The Norfolk concert series began in March 1985, with a three concert schedule featuring local performers. The Society presents a season of performances by many of the world's best known and most outstanding guitarists

and lutenists. The Society's mission is to advance interest in and promote the playing of the classical guitar and related instruments. The Society accomplishes this mission in the following ways:

-Presenting concerts by leading artists in the field of classical guitar;
-Operating the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra
-Providing educational opportunities such as master classes and lectures by visiting artists;
-Providing outreach concerts to the community;
-Commissioning new works for the guitar.

Tidewater Classical Guitar is proud to present the debut release in a new visual album series featuring guitarist Tom Clippinger.

Recorded and filmed in Norfolk’s historic First Lutheran Church, this project showcases a powerful collection of contemporary American guitar music through world premiere recordings, commissioned works, and deeply personal artistic collaborations.

Produced with GRAMMY-winning engineer Andreas Meyer and supported by Augustine Strings, the series highlights the evolving voice of the modern guitar through immersive audio and cinematic performance video.

Over the coming weeks, a new performance video will premiere bi-weekly on Fridays as part of this six-part release event.

What a weekend!

Nearly 70 guitarists from across Virginia and North Carolina came together at William & Mary for a full day of rehearsals, collaboration, and performance as part of the TCG Mid-Atlantic Guitar Orchestra Festival.

We started the day with David Russell, spent time in sectionals and combined rehearsals, and closed with a full guitar orchestra on stage—performing music by Justin Holland and David Robinson.

Thank you to the ensembles and performers from Hampton Roads, Richmond, Loudoun County, and Piedmont, North Carolina for bringing this to life.

And a special thank you to William & Mary, Eric Despard, and our granting sponsors for their support.
