Upcoming FREE activities along the trail this week! Come skate, kayak, plant, bike, and tour the ERT.

🛼🎶WEDS, 8/20, 6PM-7:30PM: ERT + Roll N Vibez Social Group Skate along the trail! All wheels are welcome - bikes, skates, boards, you name it!

SAT, 8/22 - The Triple Treat:
🛶🕶️8:30 AM: ERT + Norfolk Kayak Rentals are excited to offer a FREE kayak experience on the Elizabeth River. Join us for a 90-minute group paddle. Previous kayak experience and a program reservation is REQUIRED.

👨‍🌾🥬8:30AM: Join our Outreach Coordinator at the ERT Pocket Park for late summer vegetable and fruit planting in our raised garden beds! Help us organize and create Urban Agriculture spaces that will provide access to nutritious foods and address food insecurity throughout the city of Norfolk.

🚲🪴9AM: Join the Norfolk Master Gardeners for a 1.5-hour botanical BIKE tour that will feature the homes and gardens of the Lochhaven neighborhood. Along the way, gardeners will share tips on plant ID and landscape design, showcasing how local residents bring color and creativity to their green spaces. This tour is FREE and open to everyone, no registration required. Bring your bike and helmet!

The Elizabeth River Trail Foundation is looking for a Development Associate to join our team.

As the ERT Foundation enters its next decade, our Development Associate will play an important role in growing our fundraising strategy, strengthening donor relationships, and building long-term support for the Trail and the communities it connects.

The responsibilities of this role includes donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, CRM management, community partnerships, reporting, and support for our monthly giving programs like Wayfinders and the Trail Mix Collective.

We're looking for someone who loves building relationships, works well independently, communicates beautifully, and wholeheartedly believes in the ERT's mission.

After raising and releasing our own monarch at ERT HQ this past May, we definitely have a soft spot for these incredible little travelers. 🦋 Happy migration season, little friends!

The monarch migration is about to begin.

Along the way, they depend on native flowering plants to rest and refuel. Planting native wildflowers and milkweed in your yard or community is one simple way to help these remarkable travelers complete their journey.

Here's to safe travels, little monarchs.

The heat didn’t deter community from showing up for a trail ride with Councilman Clanton. We’re grateful that he is an advocate for the ERT and how the trail connects us all.

Members of the community were invited to join Councilman Carlos Clanton for a ride at the Elizabeth River Trail Saturday morning.
