TOMORROW: We’re launching the 1816 Fellowship — a new college campus ministry for students across the 757, in partnership with other local AME churches!

We’re excited to have Rev. Tashara S Void, who will be leading this ministry to help college students grow spiritually and connect socially during their years away from home.

This is the start of a community built on intentional and impactful worship, fellowship, prayer, Bible study, and real support for AME (and other) students on campuses throughout Hampton Roads.

✨ What a wonderful week at Vacation Bible School! From our youngest participants to our adults, every generation came together to grow in faith and discover what it means to let your light shine (Matthew 5:16). 🧡 Last Sunday, the St. John’s Family wore orange for Gun Violence Awareness. We prayed for every family affected by violence and asked God to heal our communities and our land. May we be instruments of Christ’s peace.

St. John’s celebrates our pastor, Rev. Christian J. Savage, for delivering the opening meditation at the General Board and Council of Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal Church!

We also congratulate Virginia Annual Conference Family member Rev. Tashara Void on her election as Assistant Editor of The Christian Recorder. We thank God for her faithful leadership and this well-deserved honor.
