LGBT Life Center LGBT Life Center provides a safe space, services, resources, and education for LGBTQ+ and HIV+ folx.

The Center is committed to fulfilling the diverse needs of the Hampton Roads LGBTQ+ community by helping to improve quality of life, empowering each individual, their families, and their friends in living as who they are. LGBT Life Center offers a variety of services in an affirming environment:

Individual & family counseling
Meeting space
Resource center
Adult & youth services

Social & educational events and support groups
Free & confidential HIV and STI testing
LGBTQ+ Book Lending Library
Medical case management
Clinic services* for LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with HIV
Pharmacy services (including delivery to your door or pick up at our clinic)
Pride Pantry (food and nutritional support)
Housing, including temporary and permanent housing and utility assistance
Peer-to-peer, one-on-one counseling, and conversations

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

It is a day of freedom, but also a reminder that liberation has never arrived all at once.

Juneteenth honors Black resilience, resistance, joy, and the generations who fought for freedom even when justice was delayed. It also calls us to keep building communities where dignity, equity, and care are not promises, but everyday practice.

At LGBT Life Center, we recognize Juneteenth as part of our ongoing commitment to racial equity, LGBTQ+ liberation, and a future where all communities can thrive.

How to Create a Facebook Fundraiser for LGBT Life Center

Want to support LGBT Life Center during Pride Month? Starting a Facebook fundraiser is an easy way to invite your friends and family to help fund LGBTQ+ healthcare, HIV services, housing support, food access, and community programs across Hampton Roads.

Step 1: Open Facebook

Log into Facebook from your phone or computer.

Step 2: Search “Fundraisers”

Use the Facebook search bar and type Fundraisers.

You can also look for Fundraisers in your Facebook menu.

Step 3: Create a Fundraiser

Select Create fundraiser or Raise money.

Then choose Nonprofit when Facebook asks what kind of fundraiser you want to start.

Step 4: Search for LGBT Life Center

In the nonprofit search box, type:

LGBT Life Center

Select LGBT Life Center when it appears.

Step 5: Set Your Goal

Choose a fundraising goal that feels meaningful and realistic.

Step 6: Tell People Why You’re Fundraising

Facebook may give you default text, but personal notes usually work better.

Try something like:

I’m raising money for LGBT Life Center because everyone deserves healthcare, housing, food access, HIV prevention, and community support rooted in dignity. During Pride Month, I’m asking my friends and family to help support LGBTQ+ people and people affected by HIV across Hampton Roads.

Step 7: Pick an End Date

Step 8: Publish and Share

Once your fundraiser is live, share it on your timeline and invite friends to donate.

A few tips:

Pin it to the top of your profile if you can
Share a personal update a few days later
Thank people when they donate
Share why LGBT Life Center matters to you
