Another incredible meeting in the books! At our October meeting we recapped the accomplishments announced at last weeks King's Daughter's Recognition Dinner, discussed our goals, worked on current projects which include Howl-O-Ween Puppy Parade, The 50th Annual Kids' Christmas Shop, as well as other events in the works for 2027. The Magnolia Circle of The King's Daughters is hard at work, and we hope to see you at some of these events! If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out!

Repaving is now complete in both westbound travel lanes of the I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT), with both westbound closure weekends ending ahead of schedule. to 1896, when The King's Daughters hired their first nurse, Edith Nason. During her first year alone, she made 1,771 house calls on foot, caring for children and families throughout Norfolk's poorest neighborhoods.

More than a century later, CHKD continues the mission first championed by The King's Daughters: caring for every child who needs us.

As CHKD celebrates 65 years of Health, Healing, and Hope and The King's Daughters for CHKD mark 130 years of caring for children, we invite you to reflect on the people, milestones, and defining moments that have shaped our shared legacy.
