Join us for a TWO-DAY Fill-A-Bag Weekend!

⏰ 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
📍 The Big Free Bookstore
How It Works:
Fill your bag with as many books as you can fit — and pay by the bag, not by the book!
This event we will have select NEW books you can add to your bag, as well as our usual USED book selection!
Flat fees by bag size:
• Small — $5
• Medium — $10
• Large — $15
• JUMBO — $20

📌 Please note: During these two days, we will not be accepting donations.

We are so grateful for our community partners that deliver gifts for us!

The Suffolk Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with The Friends of Foster Care to bring joy to children in our local foster care system. Many of these children face challenges most of us cannot imagine, especially during birthdays and holidays spent away from family.

This month, Sheriff Miles and Deputy Diggs picked up the first set of June birthday gifts — the beginning of our monthly deliveries to foster children across Suffolk! We’re honored to help brighten their special days and celebrate each child’s birthday with hope, support, and a reminder that their community cares.

Happy birthday to all our June celebrants and many more to come! 🥳🎉

It's been ten amazing years serving children and youth in foster care. We started with a mission to support the foster care system in Norfolk, VA and are celebrating our ten year anniversary serving much of Southeastern Virginia and Central Virginia. Thank you for joining us in our mission to help children and youth in the foster care system to thrive!

Because of supporters like you, Heroes in Motion has become a powerful demonstration of community support for youth in foster care. We would love to invite you to join us for our Final Steps Celebration on May 30 from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA.

This special afternoon will include a final Hero Lap with TFFC staff and board members, celebration of our graduating seniors, campaign awards, impact stories, cake and punch, and opportunities to meet the participants, families, and community members your support has impacted directly.

We would especially love for donors and supporters to experience the energy and joy of this event and see your generosity in action.
