Wrestling night was so much fun! These guys had their PJs on, a giant inflatable screen up and watched an evening wrestling match in the atrium.

Our Annual H2Oh Yeah Day was an EPIC! The goal was simple: get absolutely soaked and have fun!

Here’s how we did it:
🎈 3,000+ water balloons
💦 70 residents joined
⏰ 3 hours of fun
🏊 Kiddie pools, water sprayers & sprinklers
🫧 A sensory-friendly “dry zone” with bubbles, games and a place to chill
🍧 Delicious Italian ice from Flavors Va

Shanyla, aka “Miss Shay Shay,” and Ms. Jennifer are tending to the garden at The Albero House together. Jennifer worked at The Albero House for many years, coordinating activities for residents, and she still comes back to volunteer alongside her husband.

Communication looks different for every resident, and our Speech Therapy team helps each young person find their voice.

From verbal communication to iPads, eye-gaze devices, gestures, and other assistive technology, our therapists use person-centered care to help residents:

✨ Express their wants and needs
✨ Make choices for themselves
✨ Build communication skills
✨ Gain greater independence

Every voice matters. Our Speech Therapy team helps make sure every resident has a way to be heard. 💙

Richard has worked at the Home for 10 years, and during that time you could find him in the hallway, cheering on residents and using creative methods to encourage them to move! He embodies our core value of FUN.

Richard also led our Meeting of the Minds discussions, bringing team members together to collaborate on clinical topics that improve resident care.

Welcome to Camp St. Mary's ⛺🎯

The Recreational Therapy department transformed the atrium and planned two weeks of fun activities for our residents, like archery, ropes course, campfire songs, and s'mores.

On day one, they made their camp nametags and decorated their unit flags. Stay tuned for more fun camp content coming soon!
