πŸŽ‰ Great news: Community Grants for Economic Stability and Health & Wellness are available NOW!

Economic Stability grants help to create the conditions for children to learn and grow, strengthen an individual’s resolve to pursue hopes and dreams, and reduce the anxiety and stressors that accompany economic insecurity. The Foundation supports programs that address ending homelessness, workforce readiness training and connecting low-income people to employment, as well as development of sound financial education and savings programs to help low-income individuals build financial assets.

Health & Wellness grants focus on improving the health of the region's citizens. The Foundation supports programs that support participant access to primary, dental, and/or mental/behavioral health, as well as programs that encourage healthy behaviors that are known to reduce chronic diseases (such as Type II diabetes, heart disease, and lung disease) in populations that typically have a high rate of health disparity.

This week we thanked Sharon Goodwyn for her tremendous service as our Board chair for the last three years. Although her term as chair expired, she will remain on our Board until 2028. We are so grateful for her example and her dedication. Goodwyn was the first Black person to serve as Foundation Board chair.
As a token of our esteem, we gave Goodwyn this incredible painting by local artist Ken Wright. Additionally, we will provide a grant of $5,000 to the nonprofit of Goodwyn's choosing.
From the bottom of our hearts, Sharon: Thank you!

Congratulations to these students! We are honored to administer the Lawson Family Fund.
