LASEV SPEAKS OUT! SIGNIFICANT MOLD AT YOUNG TERRACE!
Deputy Director and Director of Litigation Melissa Bonfiglio spoke at the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners meeting on August 13th about the significant mold and water damage issues facing our clients in Young Terrace. The Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia has serious concerns about the quality of the mold testing and remediation being done by NRHA, so much so that we have hired our own mold expert to conduct testing in one of our client’s units. We believe that the concerns of residents regarding mold and water damage are being downplayed by the Authority and that NRHA is trying to shift blame for the conditions onto residents.
The Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia is a nonprofit law firm providing FREE legal services for low-income Virginians in civil matters including housing, family law, collections and more. We are committed to working with residents of Young Terrace and Calvert Square during the “redevelopment” of the St. Paul’s neighborhood.
