Portsmouth is kicking back into all things music! We’re excited to offer guitar, band, dance, “bucket band”, & singing company for our students!
We’re thankful thia semesters for new leaders, new families, & to be able to use this avenue of ministry to connect with our community while sharing the Good News of Jesus with them!

❄️🎵MUSIC • PROGRAMS🎵❄️

It’s time to sign up for winter/spring free music programs at The Salvation Army of Portsmouth, Virginia!!

Programs begin on January 16th and occur Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30. A meal is provided for all participants and volunteers! We offer instrumental music, dance classes, choir, and more!!

KETTLE • KICKOFF

Hampton Roads Regional Band had the privilege of supporting the Hampton Roads Area Command Kettle Kick Off at the Lynnhaven Mall!

We’re getting the band back together!!

The Hampton Roads Regional Band is getting back together this Saturday at the Portsmouth Corps to get ready for our upcoming kettle kick off!! It’s time to dust off those jingle bells and start to play some Christmas tunes!🎄🎵🔔

We’re excited to start back up this special fellowship & to see how God will use this group in this season!

🎵MUSIC PROGRAMS🎵

Fall music programs have been occurring in Portsmouth & Kroc for the last few weeks!

Here are some things we’re super excited about and we’d love for you to come be a part of!

Kroc:
• 6 brand new beginners! with Alex Miles (conservatory delegate) leading this class with the help of Marcellus Mallory (conservatory delegate) & Parker Crum (DMA/Music Camp delegate)!
• new friends have joined our singing company
• our friends who have aged out of singing company or are just about to, are now taking a new Teen Praise Team class led by Erika Gonzalez & Marleen Brewster!

Portsmouth:
• a brand new guitar class led by Mr. Dante Coleman! We’ve been praying for volunteers to help teach and God provided!
• a brand new ukulele class for our younger friends!
• things are really starting to click for our friends in beginner band and we’re SO excited to see how God continues to bless their hard work

Norah from Williamsburg had 2 FaceTime lessons in the same day to get ready for an audition!

These programs have blossomed in so many ways after just 1 year. We thank God for entrusting us with these lives and pray He continues to use these programs for HIS glory so that people would know the name of Jesus. He is so faithful🤍

You can register your child ages 8-17 on adminicamp.com for September AND October now! Registration ends September 6th!

Audition material is out now! Get in touch with your local music leaders about preparing that material!

The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area is looking for volunteers who might have skills in teaching music, dance, choir, guitar, piano, and more! This is a great way to connected to your community and give back to the next generation of musicians!!

If you’re a student needing volunteer hours, this is an easy and super fun way to meet these requirements!

CONSERVATORY • VISIT

This weekend the James B. Anderson Conservatory will be in the Hampton Roads Region to support us in ministry!
They will be supporting the following events:

7/6 - Nursing Home Ministry @ Luther Manor - 12pm

7/7 - Kroc Worship @ The Salvation Army Kroc Corps
Sunday School 10am, Worship 11am
7/7 - Regional Soldiers Rally @ Kroc Corps - 3pm

Regional Music Camp/ VBS Graduation!! ✅

We want to give a big thanks to Zion Baptist church for hosting our Graduation yesterday as well as to the parents and leaders who came out to support our youth!

We know that VBS along with music can change lives and lead to someone’s first encounter with Jesus. We’re thankful for the lives God has entrusted us with and we pray that they would walk closer to Him each and every day.
