📚 Granby Leadership Spotlight 📚

We’d like to congratulate our own Dr. Brandon Bell on his new role as Principal of Lake Taylor High School! 🎉👏🏾

Dr. Bell is a proud Granby c/o 2000 alumnus who played football under Coach Dave Hudak. He later returned to his alma mater, teaching a variety of business courses while also serving for many years as an assistant football coach.

Prior to this new role, Dr. Bell served as Principal/Site Coordinator of Norfolk Technical Center.

Dr. Bell, we are incredibly proud of you! Continue to lead, inspire, and set the standard of excellence for our community and our alma mater.

Some people wait for change. Others create it. Wesley Phelps , a proud 2010 graduate of Granby High School, has spent the last 16 years educating, mentoring, and coaching the next generation. His impact has reached communities across Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, and Southeast Texas, where he’s dedicated his life to serving others.

For the past five years, Wesley has been a resident of Houston, Texas, but for the last eight months, Wesley’s heart has been right here in Norfolk, pouring his time, energy, and passion into creating an unforgettable reunion for the Granby family.

As an educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Keystone Transition Academy 501 c3, Wesley has remained committed to helping at-risk youth succeed through education, mentorship, college readiness, and workforce development. His passion has never been about recognition. It’s always been about people.

What started as a vision to reunite Granby alumni from every generation became one of the most memorable events our community has experienced. He embraced the challenge, trusted the process, and proved that unity is stronger than division. Let’s give a well-deserved standing ovation to our event organizer, Wesley Phelps! 💙💛☄️
