If you plan to celebrate the , follow these tips for a safe holiday.

Do's
✔️ Do use fireworks and sparklers outdoors in a clear area away from homes, dry leaves, and flammable materials.

✔️ Do obey local laws.

✔️ Do check the instructions on storage and use.

✔️ Do be sparkler-safe. Always keep sparklers at arm's length away from the body.

✔️ Do stand at least six feet away from other people when holding a sparkler.

Dont's

❌ Do Not allow young children to handle fireworks.

❌ Do Not try to relight or handle a malfunctioning firework.

❌ Do Not hold a firework in your hand.

❌ Do Not experiment with homemade fireworks.

Very hot and muggy today.

-Take plenty of breaks.
-Drink plenty of water.
-Wear light-colored clothes.
-Check on your neighbors who are at risk for heat emergencies.

Hot and humid conditions will result in "feels like" temperatures of 100-110 on Monday, and a heat advisory is in effect. Similar conditions are expected Tuesday, mainly south of I-80. Otherwise, we will see periodic storm chances throughout the workweek.
