EVMS Healthy Start Loving Steps Our program is free & voluntary, serving the Norfolk and Portsmouth areas. Agency partners collaborate to reduce infant deaths.

We provide prenatal & parenting information, mentoring and healthy modeling, free baby items, nutrition & breastfeeding support, and transport to essential appointments. The Loving Steps/Healthy Start program offers support, education, and referral services for pregnant and parenting women and men. The program is managed by EVMS Pediatrics and is funded by the VA Department of Health/HRSA.
