Founded by the Consolata Sisters, Nazareth Mission Hospital has grown into a vital source of medical care and hope for families in need. It is also home to the Holy Family HIV/AIDS Center, where Tree of Lives began its work in 2004.

Today, this partnership supports programs that reach far beyond medical treatment, including HIV counseling, support for mothers and their children, youth mentoring, and care for vulnerable families.

Meet a Scholar!
James came to Joy Village in 2011 as an orphan, at just 10. After attending primary school and a boys' high school, he began an internship at a milk processing plant.

Today, James is a full-time boiler operator—and his hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. His employers have recognized his efforts with a bonus.
What a joy it is to watch our scholars grow into confident young adults, building bright futures of their own.

Today, we celebrate the teachers who do so much more than teach. We are especially grateful for Teacher George, who leads our Scholars Program. George works closely with our students and parents, helping them stay on track and support their education. Through his dedication, he reminds our scholars that their education is an opportunity—and that someone believes in their potential.

Behind every Tree of Lives program is a person with a story of courage, hope, and perseverance. Mariel is a 38-year-old single mother of four who found support through the Mother to Mother Program at the Holy Family Center (HFC) in Kenya.

Through the HFC, Mariel received support throughout her pregnancy and delivery. The Charity Patient Fund helped cover the cost of her cesarean delivery, and when she became too weak to care for herself, the Food Pack Program provided much-needed nourishment. Today, Mariel has something wonderful to celebrate. Her baby is 10 months old and has tested HIV negative.

The Mother to Mother Program provides care and support to mothers living with HIV, helping prevent transmission of HIV to their babies. Mariel and her baby will continue to receive care from the Holy Family Center, with the goal of a successful discharge when her child turns two.

This is what Tree of Lives is about—coming alongside mothers and families with practical support, compassionate care, and hope for the future.
