There will be another medical packing day at the Orphan Grain Train Servant Center. On Thursday, June 11th, from 1-8 p.m. Orphan Grain Train receives a lot of medical supplies and equipment that need to be sorted and boxed.
Some of the items can be sent internationally and some items can be sent only domestically. There will be a short training by one of our experienced medical equipment volunteers. The hours have been extended to accommodate people's schedules. Volunteers may come for a few hours or as long as they are able.

Twelve junior high volunteers plus four DCE's/interns from Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, CO packed over 100 boxes of clothing on June 4, 2026, at OGT in Castle Rock, Colorado. These young people were enthusiastic and did a great job. Four Castle Rock OGT volunteers, Jean Gottbreht, Kelly Head, Carlo Rodriguez, and Mike Kozimko, guided these volunteers. Thank you to Family of Christ Lutheran Church for providing these volunteers to do God’s work for those in need.

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

On June 4, volunteers for the Orphan Grain Train’s (OGT) New England Branch, located in Terryville, Ct. loaded a box truck with items for a mission in Jamaica. The local organization in Waterbury, God Provides, was collecting medical items to fill a container of aid being prepared.

Twenty commodes, ten wheelchairs, fifteen boxes of bed pads, fifteen pairs of crutches, twenty bedpans/urinals, twenty boxes of catheters, five walkers, five rollators, and four boxes of orthopedic supplies were loaded onto the trailer. These items will be added to the container that is being prepared for shipment to assist those in need in Jamaica. OGT works with various charities to help them complete their outreach efforts.

Other shipments have gone to missions in countries on four continents as well as Appalachia and hurricane relief for Puerto Rico, Florida, Kentucky and North Carolina. The Branch also helps those locally in New England, giving medical items that have been donated to individuals in need and thru the visiting nurse and hospice care organizations of the area. The effort is an Outreach Ministry of the Lutheran Church, and OGT is a 501(3)(C) charity affiliated with the church and supported locally by Holy Trinity Lutheran in Terryville and Immanuel Lutheran in Bristol and is open to all who want to help others. For more information, please call Holy Trinity at 860-582-0723 and/or check out the OGT.org website.

Orphan Grain Train begins fencing in Hyannis, Nebraska this week where the Minor and Morrill fires destroyed inconceivable miles of fencing. The loss of fencing is a major factor in the long-term recovery of ranching operations in the area. A crew of four men left on Monday morning, June 8th, hauling a load of hedge posts, treated posts, corner posts, wire and equipment. The men will meet up with four other men to complete this week's team of seven working in Hyannis to begin setting in new hedge posts in the sandhills. Thank you, to all the OGT donors who have provided incredibly generous support to this mission in western Nebraska.

Every quilt has a story. Many beautiful and unique quilts are shared with Orphan Grain Train, but not their story. Quilts are sewn into the history of Orphan Grain Train. Quilts were included on the first shipments to Latvia and Russia in 1993 and were given to children in orphanages. 27 OGT branches and collection centers receive donated quilts which are shipped by OGT to people in need both domestically and internationally.
Orphan Grain Train accepts quilts and blankets in all sizes, year-round.

Weekly Devotion
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. (Rom. 5:1)

Access: How many passwords do you use? I’ve lost track of how many I’ve used over the years. To name a couple: I have one password that allows me to use my debit card. Another password allows me to access the online edition of the Omaha World Herald. There are many more that I have a hard time keeping straight! I used to keep my passwords on a post it note under the keyboard of my computer. That’s not a good strategy, and you won’t find them there anymore.

Our passwords allow us to access vital information. Without my password, I can’t access the funds in my checking account. Thank goodness we don’t need a password to access our faith. St. Paul writes, “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.”

And as we reflect on the celebration of Pentecost which we recently observed, “God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” It’s like the Holy Spirit is our heavenly password. Maybe not the best analogy, but I’m grateful that the Holy Spirit—through water and the Word—makes our “peace with God” possible.

We thank and praise You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

The ladies from St. Paul Lutheran in Perham, Mn., Bethlehem Lutheran in Frazee, Mn. Beautiful Savior Lutheran in Callaway, Mn., St. John Lutheran in Vergas, Mn., Zion Lutheran in Detroit Lakes, Mn. and St. Paul Lutheran of Loon Lake Vergas, Mn. gathered at Adkins warehouse the third week in May to assemble hygiene kits. All the women from the churches brought items to use in the kits, and together they made 307 kits for OGT. Afterwards the women gathered and enjoyed fellowship and a great rhubarb dessert. What a fantastic gathering of women from six Lutheran churches in Minnesota! The evidence of what you have accomplished is in the boxes filled with the 307 hygiene kits. Thank you, so much for gathering all of the items, organizing this event and then putting together the kits.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.
