Resident Services, in partnership with Johnathan Cares, is bringing essential resources directly to our communities through Christmas in August.

Residents can stop by for household essentials, clothing, shoes, personal care items, and other resources to help meet everyday needs.

Our next Christmas in August event will be held:

Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake FLOAT-A-THON 2026🎉🥳😁🌟!!

♥️The annual Float-A-Thon will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 11-5pm.

♥️All proceeds will benefit Johnathan Cares🎉🥳😁!!

♥️Johnathan Cares was founded in 2019 in memory of our son/brother Johnathan. He was an inspirational child who broke many barriers during his 4 years of living.

♥️Johnathan Cares was created with a profound awareness of the pressing challenge of food and non-food insecurities among vulnerable individuals.

♥️In response, we established this vital initiative with the aim of making a tangible difference and alleviating the silent struggles faced by many.

♥️Our unwavering committment is rooted in the principles of preserving dignity, fostering respect and embracing humility.

♥️Through our relentless dedication, we strive to address food and non-food insecurities and create a positive impact within our community.

♥️In years past this Float-A-Thon has been able to raise a lot of money for some great causes and the Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake plan to do the same this year!

♥️Here's how you can help:

1) Put together a team of friends (members or non-members) for a little healthy competition as to which team can collect the most donations or just support one of the teams created.

The Johnathan Cares Team plans to Float🥳🎉😁! Message us or use the donation link to donate.

2) Collect pledges and/or donations towards our cause from friends, family, coworkers and local businesses. Then use the donation link.

3) Seek individuals or businesses for giveaways at the event (gift cards or other items).
