Happy Girl Scout Leader's Day to all of the Amazing Leaders!

Girl Scout Leader’s Day, also known as Girl Scout Leader Appreciation Day, is an annual celebration held on April 22. It honors all Girl Scout volunteers who work as leaders and mentors. These dedicated leaders positively impact girls’ lives by providing a foundation of confidence, experience, respect, and courage that stays with them throughout their lifetime. Approximately 750,000 adults volunteer their time with the Girl Scouts, helping girls gain experience in community service, stewardship, relationship building, and more. Their leadership skills build confidence, character, and friendships, shaping the leaders of tomorrow. On this day, consider thanking a volunteer leader, sharing your experiences as a Girl Scout, or even becoming a Girl Scout leader yourself!

This , help us honor Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. Throughout her life, Justice O’Connor stood as a trailblazer, both as the first woman on the Supreme Court and as an advocate and caregiver for her husband John, who lived with Alzheimer's disease for nearly 20 years. In 2018, she bravely shared her own diagnosis of “dementia, probably Alzheimer’s disease,” in a letter to the American people.

Justice O'Connor worked to ensure caregivers and those living with dementia were represented and their voices were heard, even after stepping down from the court in 2005 to spend time with her husband. In 2009, she served as a member of the Alzheimer’s Study Group, whose report helped make Alzheimer’s a national priority.

Her years of work as an outspoken advocate for those living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia continues to inspire action, advocacy and change, and her voice remains as an enduring example in the fight to .

Girl Scout Sunday: March 10th​

Girl Scout Sunday celebrates the powerful ties between Girl Scouting and faith. Girl Scouts are encouraged to connect their faith to the Girl Scout Law and Promise. Girl Scout Sunday kicks off Girl Scout Week in the United States.

Girl Scout Birthday: March 12th​

The Girl Scout Birthday on March 12 commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia.​

Girl Scout Sabbath / Shabbat: March 15th – March 16th​

Girl Scout Shabbat is a special observance that celebrates the connections between Girl Scouting and the Jewish faith. During this time, Girl Scouts reflect upon the importance of the words from the Girl Scout Promise: “On my honor, I will try to serve God.” It’s an opportunity for Girl Scouts to deepen their understanding of faith and express gratitude to their faith partners for their support throughout the year.

Girl Scout Jummah: March 15th​

Girl Scout Jummah is the typical celebration date for Muslim partners celebrating Girl Scout Week. Girl Scout Jummah occurs on the Friday of the week of March 12 each year. On Girl Scout Jummah, Girl Scouts across the country come together to honor their faith, learn, and grow as individuals who serve their communities and live by the Girl Scout values.

Girl Scout Week: March 10th – March 16th, the week in which March 12th falls into.

Girl Scout Week is celebrated each March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday. It always includes Girl Scouts’ birthday, which falls on March 12. During this special week, Girl Scouts around the world come together to commemorate the day when the organization was born, celebrate their sisterhood and engage in various activities.
