GALEO Impact Fund strives for a better Georgia where the Latino and Hispanic communities are respected and recognized, elected officials are held accountable, and Georgians are engaged civically. Working together for a better Georgia! The GALEO Latino Community Development Fund has been working to increase civic engagement and leadership in the Latino community in Georgia since 2003. Through this

work, the GALEO team saw a need to continue the invaluable non-partisan work of the GALEO Latino Community Development Fund along with a separate institution to engage in more political activism. The GALEO Impact Fund was established in 2019 to help address this need and organize the growing political power of the Latino community in Georgia. We are a young organization with years of civic engagement experience excited to be able to add more political tools to help bring about a better Georgia and a stronger democracy.

Last week, our CEO Jerry Gonzalez, joined more than 150 Latino organizational leaders from across the country in Washington, D.C., for the "Encuentro Nacional" hosted by the Hispanic Federation.

Together, they met with members of Congress and congressional staff to discuss issues impacting Latino communities including immigration, detention, voting rights, food and healthcare access, AI surveillance, and Supreme Court decisions.

With more than 100 meetings held on Capitol Hill, these conversations help elevate the voices and priorities of Latino communities in GA and across the nation.
