What an incredible example of Norco supporting Norco! 💙💛
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Norco Junior Livestock Auction, and even the rain couldn’t keep our community away. Businesses, nonprofit organizations, service clubs, families, and individuals all came together to support the hardworking youth of 4-H, FFA, and Grange.
The generosity was truly amazing! Animals sold for incredible amounts, including:
🐑 Sheep – $2,700–$3,000
🐖 Pigs – $2,200–$6,000
🐐 Goats – $2,500–$3,300
🦃 Turkeys – $1,500–$2,500
🐄 Beef – $12,000
And two local businesses stepped up in a BIG way by purchasing entire lots: Sparkey’s Electric purchased all of the rabbits for $7,900, and Les Schwab Tire Center purchased all of the chickens for $2,700! I wish I could recognize all of the amazing people who were present yesterday!
But one of the most inspiring parts of the auction was seeing buyers purchase animals and then donate them back to the Norco Fair Junior Livestock FFA and 4H Scholarship Fund to be auctioned again, allowing their generosity to go even further.
These young people spend months raising, caring for, and preparing their animals, and yesterday our community showed them that their hard work matters.
The Norco Kiwanis Club and Foundation is proud to be part of a community that believes so strongly in supporting our youth. I stand here as a proud Norconian who graduated NHS in 1979! Thank you to every business, organization, and individual who raised a paddle, made a donation, partied in the rain, and helped make this event such a success.
This is what community looks like. ❤️
