As we get ready to open the Bellingham severe weather shelter, we are seeking meal donations from professional kitchens and shelf-stable, pre-packaged single-serving items. If you can donate 60 or more servings, please email us at [email protected] to arrange a delivery in advance, as our staff will be occupied assisting guests and cannot accept drop-in deliveries. ❄️🌤️ Extended Forecast | Through Tuesday, Dec 30

A quick recap first — tonight (Friday) into early Saturday is when NE outflow winds begin to develop. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect due to wind chill values dropping into the teens and 20s. Overnight lows fall to freezing and below, and with lingering moisture, icy spots are likely, especially by Saturday morning.

Saturday (27th):
Cold, dry, and breezy at times as outflow continues. Highs only reach the mid 30s, and it will feel colder once wind chill is factored in. Patchy fog is possible outside of the outflow-prone areas.

Sunday:
A quieter day, but still a light NE breeze remains. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine, with highs in the upper 30s. Wind chill values stay in the mid 20s to low 30s.

Monday:
Mostly cloudy with the chance for a peek of sunshine. Highs warm slightly into the low 40s.
Overnight lows drop into the low to mid 30s, and fog could develop in some locations.

Tuesday:
A slight change with a small chance of showers, and temperatures bumping up into the mid 40s.

Overall, a cold and mostly dry weekend transitions to slowly moderating temperatures early next week. More updates as needed. ❄️🌤️

Homes, businesses and farms in Whatcom County are reeling after sustaining devastating damage in the second major Nooksack River flood in four years.

Alexandra Williams, a Deming-area blueberry farmer and President of the Whatcom County Farm Bureau, joins Dillon to share the impacts this month’s flood had on her family’s farm, and ask hard questions about what authorities are doing to manage the river and stop what’s becoming a terrible pattern.
