Reminder!
Open gyms start tonight for Heavyweights only! Lightweights will begin 6/15. Open gyms will take place on the large soccer field next to the South baseball diamond (A big thanks to the coaches who have spent the last few days laying out and painting the field!).
Open gyms are a great way to help kids get acclimated to the heat before practices start while working on strength, speed, conditioning, football fundamentals, and teamwork. There are a mandated number of official practices that must be completed before kids can wear pads once the season starts, but the earlier they can start acclimating to the heat, the better.
🔴 We know it's hard to get kids to drink water, but it is so important that they hydrate not only during open gyms, but in the days leading up! Athletes should only be bringing water or electrolyte source to open gyms. Milk, soda, tea, etc are not appropriate hydration drinks.
⚫ Athletes should come dressed in athletic clothes and either cleats or tennis shoes.
