Ready to make this Halloween Spook-tacular?🎃👻

We’re hosting our "Trunk or Treat" at Fred B. Johnson Park on October 31st from 5-7pm, and we need you to help us make it happen!

We’re looking for families, local businesses, and groups to bring their decorated trunks and join the fun. Whether you want to go spooky, silly, or sweet, your trunk is the star of the show. Do you know what a Gold Star Mother is?
Did you know that Nokomis has a Gold Star Mother’s Park?

The Beautification Team is currently working on a redesign of this small, yet significant park that is located along Rt 16 just past the City Complex.

In 1923, the last Sunday in September was designated as Gold Star Mother’s and Family day. The Nokomis Gold Star Mother’s park was originally dedicated in 1933.

After the redesign is completed, there will be a rededication of the park on September 27th.

The team needs your help!! At the rededication ceremony, we would like to read the names of the beloved military members we lost in combat. If you have a family member that perished while on active duty, please let us know.

Please provide the soldier’s name and the family name requesting by commenting on this post or by sending a message directly to the group through Messenger on the Newkomis page. The names of those we read can be from other communities, as well - not just Nokomis. So please share, share, share so we can recognize as many as possible.

Have you seen Main Street with the flowers in full bloom? If that doesn’t make your heart happy, you might need a nap and a cookie! This post from Revitalize or Die really hit the nail on the head! Way to go Beautification Team!!!
