280 years ago today, the 16th April 1746 on Drumossie Moor near Inverness, the Battle of Culloden altered the course of history.
This clash between the Jacobite army, led by Prince Charles Edward Stuart, and the government forces of King George II, led by the Duke of Cumberland, marked the end of the Jacobite rebellion.
Despite their efforts, the Jacobites faced heavy casualties in a brutal clash that lasted less than an hour, forever changing life in the Highlands.

We are so pleased to announce that Mavis, who has been in STROF’s foster program since the end of December, has been officially adopted and is with her forever family!

The shy, scared little brindle Scottie mix that came to us has blossomed into a fun-loving cuddle bug, thanks to the patience and hugs of her volunteer foster parents. Mavis’ new parents Molly and Patrick, and four year old Scottie sister, Nessie, couldn’t be happier! Thank you for opening your hearts, home and lives to little Miss Mavis! ❤️

Here is our Heavy Athletics that have registered for the 3rd Annual Suncoast Scots Highland Games & Celtic Festival on Saturday January 31st 2026 at the Sarasota Fairgrounds, Sarasota, Florida.
