Offering tours, learning sessions in horsemanship, & mental health services for people of all ages/abilities. Rescue horses and donkeys partnering with people to support mutual wellness, personal growth, and positive relationships. Programs in wellness, learning, and more where participants learn and grow through true bonds built with our rescue animals. The Sanctuary at Equine Connection Center is a 501c3 non-profit supporting the rescue and care of equine animals in need.

Update on our hospitalized horse -- McCoy's recovery has been challenging. He has experienced several post-op complications.

**The good news: As of today, he's brighter, more comfortable, and his appetite has returned. He is still in the process of "refeeding", so not out of the woods. But, he no longer has a fever or diarrhea.

**The bad news: He now has a significant infection in his surgical incision. This requires a wound-vacc, other treatments, and extends his hospital stay. His muscle layer is intact but there are big risks of it failing with this complication.

This feels like an unending nightmare, but we have to keep up hope. We've come too far to give up now.

We are so grateful for those who have reached out in support and to those who have donated. Truly, every dollar makes a difference. The fundraiser remains open and we remain in need of any help you can offer.

**We Need Your Help.**

This week, one of our youngest equine residents, McCoy, became suddenly and seriously ill. We had to act quickly to get him the equine medical center in Leesburg, where he ultimately underwent an emergency, overnight surgery to correct a blockage in his small intestine.

The surgery was successful but he is not out of the woods yet. He remains hospitalized for an indeterminate amount of time and we are facing a long road to recovery.

We don't often share the hardest parts of running a sanctuary. Today, we are pulling back the curtain because we need your help. McCoy's emergency surgery, hospitalization, and the care he will need during his recovery have created expenses far beyond what we currently have available in our budget.

Even though he is so young, McCoy is already making a difference in the lives of the people who visit and receive services here at ECC. He is an important part of our herd.

Pete here with a PSA: it’s time to dip your toes into summer fun ☀️🐴💦

We always know when summer has arrived, because Pete is bound and determined to “swim” in any available water - even if that means one foot in a bucket!

We have lots of fun, warmer-weather events coming up here at ECC! From tours to sessions to camp to our annual sunset yoga, there’s something for everyone here at the sanctuary.

Our goal is to raise enough to purchase a round pen to be used for training as well as a private client session workspace. Any additional funds will be used toward this spring's veterinary costs including vaccines and dentals. Thank you for your support!
