What a truly blessed day! 🙏✨ So grateful to be part of the Holy Trinity 25th Anniversary Festival — a beautiful celebration of faith, community, and 25 incredible years together. A very special thank you to Bishop Burbidge for taking the time to stop by our table. Your presence made this day even more meaningful. Here’s to Holy Trinity and the amazing community that we are so grateful to be part of! 🎉❤️

We are excited to share some wonderful progress on our Elementary Classroom Renewal Project!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have already received $6,000 in donations, and a flooring supplier has generously agreed to provide our flooring materials at cost. Because of this support, we are officially able to move forward with new floors in the classroom this summer!

We are deeply grateful for the encouragement and partnership that has made this possible already.

As we continue the renewal, we are now focusing on creating a small classroom kitchen and snack area to better support independence and practical life in the Elementary environment.

We are currently looking for:
• a kitchen range
• a wall-mounted venting microwave
• butcher block countertop materials

If you are able to contribute financially, donate materials, or help connect us with these items, we would be so grateful.

This classroom has been a deeply loved space for many years, and it is beautiful to see our community helping thoughtfully renew it for the children who will continue to grow and work there in the years ahead.

This week, the children explored Colombian culture through food as we prepared traditional breakfast favorites together, including arepas, bocadillos, and pandebonos. 🇨🇴

Cooking in the classroom is about much more than making food. Through measuring, mixing, pouring, and preparing, children strengthen coordination, concentration, independence, and cooperation.

And perhaps the best surprise of all—the children absolutely loved the food.

Sharing meals together invites conversation, connection, and openness to new experiences. These moments help children grow not only in practical skills, but also in appreciation for the richness and diversity of the world around them.

In Montessori, even cooking becomes meaningful work: hands-on, joyful, and deeply connected to real life. ✨

Summer arrived early this week, and we welcomed it with open arms—and open doors. ☀️🌿

With warm weather and sunshine inviting us outside, the children spent as much time as possible in the garden watering plants, picking strawberries, observing new growth, and digging their hands happily into the soil.

But the biggest stars of the week were undoubtedly the cicadas and beetles.

The children have been listening to their chirps, searching for shed exoskeletons, watching them move through the grass and trees, and asking thoughtful questions:
Where do they come from?
Where do they go?

This is what Montessori learning looks like in action.

The outdoor environment becomes a living classroom where curiosity naturally leads to observation, conversation, and discovery. Back inside, the children continued their investigations through books, discussions, and work exploring insect life cycles.

Last week butterflies, this week cicadas and beetles—we are ending the school year surrounded by wonder, fresh air, and the joy of discovering the world God created. ✨

For many years, our Elementary classroom has been a deeply loved and active environment where children have learned, grown, explored, and built independence each day.

This summer, we are undertaking a focused renewal of the space to ensure it continues to reflect the beauty, order, and purpose of a prepared Montessori environment.

Your support will help fund:
✨ New flooring
✨ Furniture refreshes
✨ Kitchen improvements

In Montessori education, the environment is a teacher. A calm and thoughtfully prepared space supports focus, responsibility, independence, and joy in learning.

Much of the labor for this project is being generously donated, allowing nearly all funds to go directly toward materials for the classroom.

Every gift — no matter the size — makes a lasting impact.

Our Primary classroom caterpillars have been growing quickly, and the children have been carefully observing every stage of the process. 🐛

Yesterday, many of the children chose to draw the caterpillars and their container, practicing close observation and attention to detail. Today, they noticed something exciting: several caterpillars have climbed to the top and begun forming their chrysalises.

The classroom is full of anticipation as we wait to see what changes tomorrow may bring.

In Montessori, moments like these nurture curiosity, patience, and a deep sense of wonder about the natural world. ✨

The Young Children’s Community continues to work hard both indoors and outdoors, and one thing that continues to stand out is the toddlers’ remarkable ability to focus and concentrate.

Recently, we introduced a balance board into the environment. While it may look simple, this kind of movement work is deeply purposeful.

As children balance, shift their weight, and carefully control their movements, they are strengthening coordination, body awareness, and equilibrium. Just as importantly, this work supports attention, concentration, and self-regulation.

In Montessori, movement and learning are closely connected. Young children learn not only through listening or watching, but through purposeful activity that engages the whole body.

What appears to be “just balancing” is actually helping to build the foundations for confidence, focus, and independence.

And like so much meaningful work in the classroom, the toddlers return to it again and again—driven by their natural desire to master new skills. ✨

As the school year winds down, the children are still deeply engaged in meaningful academic work—even through the natural tiredness of this season.

In these final weeks, we are seeing real mastery take shape:
third years moving into abstract division, second years strengthening multi-digit multiplication, and first years confidently expanding into regrouping in addition and subtraction.

Alongside this, they continue to grow in fractions, geometry, square roots, spelling, and geography—work that builds strong academic foundations.

Just as importantly, they are learning how to learn: how to persist, collaborate, resolve conflict, and take ownership of their work within a prepared Montessori environment.

What you see here is only a glimpse of the quiet, steady growth happening every day.

What looks like a simple “pond” is actually something much more: a vernal pool—a temporary habitat that appears each year just long enough to sustain new life.

Because it dries out each season, it becomes a protected place where amphibians can lay their eggs without predators. This week, our students explored that life up close—carefully collecting a small sample to observe.

Inside, they discovered a complete ecosystem: tadpoles at different stages, tiny crustaceans, and salamander larvae with delicate, feathery gills.

This kind of work cannot be replicated in a textbook.

It begins with curiosity, grows through observation, and leads to deeper understanding. Older students naturally invited younger ones to come see, creating a culture of shared discovery and mentorship.

In a Montessori environment, the child is not just learning about the world—they are encountering it directly.

And in doing so, they develop not only knowledge, but wonder, responsibility, and a lasting love of learning. ✨

Notes from the children are always welcome in our classrooms. Sometimes they share ideas, sometimes requests for favorite activities—and sometimes they help children express something meaningful from the heart.

Recently, one child was feeling disappointed that his grandparent could not attend our upcoming concert. He carefully chose colored pencils, drew a picture, and wrote a note that was later mailed for him.

For many weeks now, some of our oldest children have also been exchanging letters with elementary students, often leading to classroom visits and new friendships.

In a Montessori environment, writing is not practiced in isolation—it is used with purpose.

And in a culture increasingly shaped by screens and quick communication, handwritten notes and cursive writing remain deeply valuable. Writing by hand strengthens fine motor coordination, concentration, memory, and language development while giving children a meaningful way to communicate independently of technology.

Most importantly, children discover that writing has the power to connect us to one another.

These small moments of thoughtful communication help form careful thinkers, attentive observers, and joyful learners. ✨
