🌟 Santa Cruz County 4-H youth learning leadership at the Arizona State Capitol!

Last week, three outstanding 4-H members represented our community at the State Capitol. Gracie Zerbel (Sonoita, 4-H Mustang Club), Jasmin Lillywhite (Nogales, 4-H Rattlesnakes Club), and Ian Corona (Rio Rico, 4-H Rattlesnakes Club) joined 27 fellow 4-H members from across Arizona to learn more about civic engagement, leadership, and how government works.

During their visit, the delegates met with Arizona Director of Agriculture Paul Brierley to learn about current agricultural issues and state policies. They also toured the State Capitol and met with Senator Tim Dunn, Senator David Gowan, and Senator Rosanna Gabaldon to learn about the legislative process, ask questions, and share about their experiences in 4-H.

We are proud of these young leaders for representing Santa Cruz County and continuing to grow as engaged citizens and future leaders. 🍀👏

The Governor of the state of Sonora, Mexico, Alfonso Durazo, recognized our 15 students from the INAN Institute in our sister city of Nogales, Sonora who participate in our 4-H STEM projects, not only for competing in our annual 4-H State STEM Competition held at the University of Arizona, but for also winning first place on the Lego Robotics competition! 🏆👏👏👏

The INAN Institute is the first school from Mexico that joins our 4-H youth development program.

This recognition highlights the strong cross border collaboration fostered through our Santa Cruz County 4-H program and the meaningful impact of STEM initiatives on positive youth development! 🍀
Congratulations INAN students and teachers for your amazing effort and dedication ! 👏👏

We are delighted to announce that Wyatt Holt participated in the 4-H 🍀 State Archery shoot in Flagstaff, Arizona. This was his second year attending, where he had an incredible weekend of fun, learning, and camaraderie with many youth from across the state.

Wyatt engaged in archery games, target fields, and trail courses with 3-D targets, where he learned new techniques as he improved his skills in archery ! 🏹

The camp offered many fun activities for all the participants, including a raffle and very delicious lunches! 😋

As a returning participant, Wyatt highly recommends this empowering experience to all Santa Cruz County youth, and he is happy to answer any questions that youth may have about this great opportunity ! 🙂

Thank you, Wyatt, for all that you do! Keep being the amazing person that you are, always caring and helping others; responsible, kind, and so inspiring to other youth ! 🌟

🌟 Shining Bright at State! 🌟 This summer, Mustang Club member, Jace Holt, took on the 4-H Dog Clinic and State Dog Show with his loyal pup, TJ, and WOW did they make us proud! 🐾

After impressing at Saturday’s clinic, Jace was invited to compete in the senior division, a huge honor for someone his age! Despite limited experience in obedience and rally, Jace gave it his all in agility, rally, obedience, and showmanship.

🏅 While he didn’t place in the events, Jace earned something even more meaningful: the Spirit of 4-H Award 🍀 a unanimous decision by clinicians, judges, and the state dog committee. This award celebrates perseverance, citizenship, service, and heart, and Jace embodied it all! 🩷 The 4-H Director even called it the most important award of the show!☺️
