HALO IS a professional organization for persons who respond to those calls. Please contact your local law enforcement agency with those concerns. Hoosier Animal Law Officers (HALO) is for Indiana professionals who work or volunteer for humane law enforcement agencies, animal control organizations, animal shelters, or other animal law related capacities. HALO is dedicated to "Developing a structure

d and humane field of professionals" and does so by providing the aforementioned persons with networking and training opportunities. Members are required to be persons who are employed part-time or full-time at an Indiana based law enforcement agency, animal control agency, animal care facility, or other entity that employs individuals to work in the animal law field. Persons who actively investigate animal welfare concerns or other complaints have voting rights and are called Members. Those who focus more on the sheltering and animal care within the field don't have voting rights and are called Associate Members. Additionally, HALO will strive to fight the negative stigma of animal control, create statewide standards for the field, and improve Indiana legislation related to animal welfare.
