Today, two of our American Legion brothers had the honor of providing a two-man Honor Guard detail for the funeral of Donald Ray “Don” Finch, 88, of Nixon, Texas.
Don was a proud member of the American Legion and a U.S. National Guard veteran who served six years and received an honorable discharge in 1961. He was a licensed funeral director for 66 years, a cattle rancher, longtime community leader in Nixon, a deacon, Mason, Lions Club member, and a faithful servant in his church. He was a loving husband to Gladyne for nearly 62 years, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
We were proud to stand with him one final time and present the folded American flag to his wife, Gladyne, in recognition of his service to our nation.
Rest in peace, Don. Thank you for your service. 🇺🇸
