Today we got to celebrate Joshua and Jackson on acheiving the rank of Eagle Scout. We are excited to watch them soar, in all they do. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate these young men’s accomplishments! Special thanks to State Senator Scott Hutchinson, State Representative Marci Mustello, and Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche for attending and presenting citations to these gentleman in person.

Tonight’s troop meeting, the scouts, decided to practice their lashing skills and made marshmallow launchers. So the night finished with a marshmallow and gummy bear fire fight.

Stop by Basecamp A/B to work on the Military Service & Veterans badge, part of the Scouts BSA Test Lab. Scouts explore military heritage, leadership, service, and the sacrifices made to protect our nation.

Test Lab badges are not merit badges yet. You work with a registered adult, finish the requirements, then take a short survey that helps decide if this becomes an official merit badge. If it does, and you have your signed certificate of completion, you get credit for it.

Visit 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days at Basecamp AB. Check the Jamboree app for updates.

This year our TJ is attending the National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtal Scout Reserve! This event only takes place once every 4 years! 10 days of tent camping in West Virginia. Tons of activities like shooting sports, zip lines, BMX bike riding, SCUBA diving, whitewater rafting, patch trading, concerts, fireworks and even drone shows just to mention a few! Every scout should try to take advantage of the national jamboree!

This past weekend we had a few scouts camp at the Sylvania Foundation in West Sunbury. Had a beautiful morning Friday when the trailer was dropped off for the group who were camping!

Short turn around from a week of summer camp to back to troop activities! Tonight scouts visited the Eaton Power Systems Experience Center where they worked with PSEC Engineer CJ Burns, a former member of troop 53 and Eagle Scout himself, who taught our scouts about electricity and worked with the scouts on the electricity merit badge!
