Want to be part of one of the tastiest events of the year? We’re looking for Wild Hog Cook-Off Judges for our 2026 Nixon Smiley Livestock Show!

🍅 Friday Judges: Salsa, Margaritas, & BBQ Sauce
🥩 Saturday Judges: Brisket, Chicken, Pork Ribs, Other Pork, Beans, Chili, Dutch Oven Desserts & our Mystery Division!

No judging experience is required—just bring your appetite and be ready to sample some amazing entries!

📢 Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show Check Pickup Reminder 📢

We will be passing out exhibitor checks on Friday, June 5th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Show Barn.

If you are unable to pick up your check during this time, please contact us to make other arrangements.

The Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show Board is now accepting bids for the 2026 Auction Buyers Dinner!

We are looking for a local restaurant or caterer interested in providing a meal for approximately 150 people, which will need to include food and drinks.

🚨🐄 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – PLEASE READ 🐄🚨

After much discussion and consideration, the Nixon Smiley Livestock Show Committee has decided to make a major change for next year’s show…

👉 ALL livestock entries will now be required to be HALTER BROKE… INCLUDING CHICKENS. 🐔

That’s right — we expect to see your broilers leading, setting up, and backing like pros. Bonus points for pivots and showmanship smiles 😄

🐖 Pigs must now respond to voice commands only
🐐 Goats must wear matching outfits with exhibitors
🐄 Cattle must learn to load themselves (we believe in independence)

We feel these changes will really elevate the competition and prepare exhibitors for the “real world.”

Please begin training immediately. Clinics for chicken showmanship coming soon.

Please make plans to come by the show barn Monday from 4:30–5:30 PM to pick up your buyer’s list. You’ll need this list to complete your thank-you letters for your buyers.

✉️ IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Thank-you letters are due April 8th at 5:30 PM.

All letters must:
✔️ Be handwritten
✔️ Be stamped
✔️ NOT be sealed
