Meet the Crew! Nixa Fire Protection District operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To make that possible, we work a 48/96 schedule (2 days on, 4 days off) with 3 shifts rotating throughout the week.

Today we’re highlighting C-Shift. Across our three stations, these firefighters bring a strong mix of experience, training, and teamwork to the job. Whether responding to emergencies or sharpening their skills through training, C-Shift is dedicated to being ready when needed. No matter the challenge, when the tones drop, C-Shift is ready to answer the call.

Today B-shift had monthly EMS training presented by CCAD. All shifts participate as well when scheduled on duty. The training went over treatment of traumatic pelvic injuries, treatment for road rash, and a small overview of the neurological system. The Firefighters of the NFPD use these monthly trainings to stay up to date for certifications, as well as treatments for medical calls. So that we may have the best tactics to serve the community.

Rain or shine, the job doesn’t stop — and neither does our training. Today, Nixa Fire A Shift trained alongside Ozark Professional Firefighters Local 152 in wet conditions because emergencies don’t wait for perfect weather. Training in the rain builds confidence, sharpens decision-making, and prepares our crews to operate safely and effectively when conditions are at their worst.

The more realistic the training, the better prepared we are to serve our communities when it matters most. Proud to train together and push each other to be better every day. 🚒🌧️

Multi-Company Sunday

Today, C-Shift participated in multi-company rope rescue training, focusing on both the fundamentals and more advanced skills needed to respond to a wide range of emergencies and hazards.

Training together across companies strengthens coordination, teamwork, and overall readiness for the community we’re proud to serve.

This is B-Shift, like the other shifts we are dedicated to your safety and protecting the lives and property of those we serve. B-Shift has a range of experience and a drive to better our craft so that when the tones drop, we are ready for whatever the need is.
