Check out our NEW equestrian center arena banners! A special thank you to Paso Robles Horse Park Foundation for generously supporting our therapeutic riding program year after year.

Pictured is one of our weekly volunteers who fiercely competes at the Paso Robles Horse Park. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to cheer her on at such a beautiful venue.

Meet Horse #2 (Dawn):
Meet Dawn! Don’t let her sweet face fool you, Dawn has places to be!
This beautiful American Quarter Horse mare joined the Jack’s Helping Hand herd in 2024, bringing with her a background as a barrel horse and all the grit, athleticism, and heart that comes with it.

Fun Fact: Dawn can absolutely beat you in a walking race. Seriously… good luck keeping up.

With her forward energy and kind spirit, Dawn is already making a wonderful impact in the Little Riders program.

Drop a 🐎 in the comments if you’d race Dawn (even if you’d lose)!

Meet Horse #1 (Max):
Meet Max! If there were an award for best napper in the barn, Max would win it every time.
This handsome American Quarter Horse gelding joined the Jack’s Helping Hand herd in 2020, bringing with him quite the resume, from working with a Sheriff’s Posse to supporting Equine Assisted Services. Talk about a horse with heart.

Fun Fact: Max can sleep anywhere. Stall? Check. Cross ties? Probably. Mid-break in the sunshine? Absolutely.

With his steady nature and laid-back personality, Max helps make the Little Riders program such a special place for our participants.

Drop a 😌 in the comments if you think Max has mastered the art of relaxation!

April is Autism Awareness Month: Meet Nathan

Nathan is a curious and happy 7-year-old who loves to explore, create, and try new things. He was almost 3 years old when he was diagnosed with autism and global developmental delay, and supporting him through daily challenges quickly became his parents’ top priority.

Nathan joined Jack’s Helping Hand in August 2025 and quickly found a special connection through the Little Riders program. Although Nathan has always been afraid of heights, he climbed onto Max for his first lesson without hesitation. Since then, riding “his” horse has become something he truly loves.
Through his equine lessons, Nathan has grown more confident and comfortable. Riding has helped him work through his fear of heights, strengthen his social skills, improve his focus, follow directions, use language, express himself, and connect with his riding friends, staff, and volunteers.
Nathan’s family is incredibly grateful to Jack’s Helping Hand for providing this opportunity and for making such a meaningful difference in his life.

The Rotary Club of Nipomo was one of the many Rotary clubs who helped build our 10 stall barn. They recently got the opportunity to tour our facility and use our classroom for their monthly meeting.

We also received a donation from the Rotary Club of Nipomo for playground equipment. In recognition for their contribution, a bench will be dedicated to the Rotary Club of Nipomo. Thank you for your generosity and dedication to the Jack Ready Imagination Park and Equestrian Center.

The Jack Ready Imagination Equestrian Center participated in the BackCountry Horseman's 1st tack sale. There were 38 booths at the Edwards Barn in Nipomo selling used and new horse tack.

We were showered with donations of horse tack from our community, which brought $1,000 to our Little Riders Therapeutic Riding Program. We would love to show where your funds are going, schedule a personal tour by emailing [email protected]

Are you looking for a way to give back without donating your time or money? Donate your slightly used tack items to our program. We will be collecting donated tack items to be sold at the Back Country Horsemen Tack Swap on April 18th at the Edwards Barn in Nipomo. We will have an information booth along with the tack that we collect until then. All proceeds will go directly to our Little Riders program!
