Our amazing partners at Bloomsday have opened an online donation site to collect donations for the Riverside State Park Foundation. These funds will be used to support park recovery and restoration from the wildfire.
We were the 2026 Bloomsday Charity of Choice earlier this year and truly value the generosity of this partnership.
Thank you!

We are so grateful for the amazing work being done by firefighters to gain control of our area fires.

Many areas at Riverside State Park are closed due to being in evacuation areas, continued firefighting efforts and safety assessments.

Because conditions are changing, please check the state park website for the most up-to-date park conditions.
Here is the link:
https://parks.wa.gov/find-parks/state-parks/riverside-state-park .

When more is known, we will share official information about damage to the park, restoration plans and ways the community can help.

Please continue to help your neighbors and support those in our community who have lost so much.

Wildfire season is here. A Level 3 Burn Ban is in effect statewide. No charcoal or wood fires. Gas and propane camp stoves and fire pits are ok where allowed. Before visiting, check park alerts and burn restrictions before lighting any fires.

Due to nearby fires, Riverside State Park is closed with the exception of Lake Spokane Campground. This closure includes the Little Spokane River Natural Area and all areas of the park south of Lake Spokane.

Active firefighting still is underway in some park areas. We have been told that most of the park will remain closed at least through this weekend, perhaps longer.

The Foundation does not yet have official information to share about the status of damage to specific areas in the park. To check the latest status of park operations, go to the state website.

We know many of you want to help with Riverside State Park recovery. Right now the focus is on fire suppression. When we know more about specific park needs, we will share that information.

Your Riverside State Park Foundation is a 501c3 that was formed in 2002 to support the park. We are a fully volunteer organization, which ensures all funds we receive go directly to support of the park.

Our hearts are heavy as we learn of the losses of homes, businesses and natural habitat from the ongoing wildfires.

Our Foundation does not have any official information to share at this time about specific damage to the park. When we have that information from park and emergency officials, we will help share it.

We are deeply grateful for the strong response from emergency personnel.

The very best way to beat the heat while surrounding yourself with nature is to visit the The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture's exhibit "Our Amazing NW Natural Areas" featuring the oil paintings of LM Montgomery in the Helen South Gallery through July 29. Museum admission tickets are not required for this gallery.
These 4-foot-by-5-foot paintings showcase Bowl and Pitcher at Riverside State Park, Dishman Hills, Palisades-Rimrock, Turnbull Wildlife Refuge, Little Spokane River, Liberty Lake Park and High Drive Bluff and more.
All paintings are available to purchase with a portion of proceeds benefiting non-profit organizations -- including the Riverside State Park Foundation -- who are stewards of these treasured areas.

Thanks to our Park Rangers for helping keep the Centennial Trail safe for everyone!

Thanks to our Park Rangers for helping keep the Centennial Trail safe for everyone!

In response to frequent calls about unauthorized Trail usage and speeding by mopeds and motorcycles, rangers from WA State Parks and multiple jurisdictions along the Trail are conducting joint enforcement efforts across the trail system (in this case, City of Spokane Park Rangers) .

We appreciate everything they do to keep the Trail a safe, accessible space for ALL users, and keep your eyes peeled for more patrols coming soon!
