Don't forget our holiday effort to send gifts to troops deployed over the upcoming holidays. Our goal is to send a little of the holiday spirit to at least 1,000 of our troops.

Most donors give 25.00, 50.00 or 100.00. But we appreciate every single gift, and every gift helps us reach our goal. If you have a few dollars you could donate to help this effort be a great success, it would be very much appreciated. OGA is able to accept checks or credit cards.

If you know someone who will be deployed over the holidays, you can send their name, rank and deployment base info to us via message.

If you have any questions, or would like to donate, you can call us at 330-577-1888

LIKE and SHARE to honor the members of the Armed Forces on Friday, September 20th, which is National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

Let's remember those who gave their lives in service to the United States of America to protect the freedoms we all enjoy as citizens of this great country.

I ask that you keep in your thoughts and prayers the prisoners of war (POW), those who are missing in action (MIA), and the families that have been left behind.

A promise is given for those who wear the uniform of the United States that no one will be forgotten or left behind. National POW/MIA Recognition Day is about keeping that promise through this special day of remembrance for the safe return of American Prisoners of War and those still missing in action.

To those members of the Armed Forces who left but never returned: we honor you for your sacrifice, dedication and love of country. May comfort and peace be with the families that lost loved ones, and may there someday be closure for the families of those who remain missing.

Here's the explanation of the image:
Set for four, the missing personnel from The U.S. Army, United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, and United States Air Force are represented at the table. The round table shows everlasting concern. The table cloth is white symbolizing the purity of the servicemen’s motives when answering the call to duty. A single red rose is displayed in a vase as a reminder of the life of each of the missing and their loved ones and friends who Keep the faith while seeking answers. The vase is tied with a red ribbon symbolizing the continued determination to account for them. A slice of lemon is a reminder of the bitter fate of those captured and missing in a foreign land. The salt symbolizes the tears shed by those missing and their families who long for answers to end years of uncertainty. The lighted candle reflects hope for their return to their families and our Nation. The inverted glass symbolizes the servicemen’s inability to share an evening toast. The chairs are empty; they are missing.

Samuel Gompers, one of the first labor leaders in this country, said that Labor Day was a time to pledge ourselves to an even greater effort in the coming year.

PLEASE SHARE! :)

Meet Kenny Bass. Kenny is a disabled Marine combat veteran.

He served with the Marine infantry, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, for the first 8 months of the Iraq war in 2003.

On July 20th 2003, he was hit with an IED during a counter-ambush patrol. Kenny suffered PTSD, hearing loss, and multiple other physical injuries.

In 2007, Kenny was diagnosed with Behcet’s Disease as a result of the Anthrax and Smallpox vaccinations he received for his deployment.

What is Buhcet's Disease? Behcet’s Disease destroys the blood vessels by inflammation, and causes severe arthritic joint pain, chronic fatigue, neuropathy, painful sores, migraines, and multiple other debilitating symptoms. Both arteries and veins are affected. It can be fatal, due to ruptured vascular aneurysms or severe neurological complications.

Kenny has spent the last 9 years of his life in treatment for his PTSD (individual, group and family counseling, as well as other PTSD treatments), and has received treatment for Behcet's Disease.

He has been prescribed a PTSD service dog that will enable him to further his long battle with PTSD, continue rebuilding his life, and assist with his physical struggles due to Behcet's.

Now meet Atlas, Kenny's PTSD service dog. Dogs like Atlas require extensive training and are prohibitively expensive (Atlas costs $26k). Funding through the V.A. for these service dogs has been cut. And now Kenny must come up with the rest of the funding for his PTSD service dog.

IMPORTANT: Kenny could lose Atlas if he cannot come up with the rest of the funds ($12,000.00). Neither Kenny nor Atlas would fare well separated at this point.

OPERATION GUARDIAN ANGEL is determined to help Kenny raise the last $12k needed so he and his family can continue to progress toward the normalcy they strive for, and it's Atlas who is making this possible.

Please help us raise $12,000.00 for Kenny and Atlas. There are 2 ways to donate:

1. By Credit Card: Call us at 330-577-1888 to donate with your Credit Card.

2. By Check: You can send a check or money order made out to OPERATION GUARDIAN ANGEL. Please call for the address until we get our PO Box set up:)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us directly or message us through FB! Thank you, and on behalf of Kenny and Atlas, SEMPER FI!
