Hi Fort Friends and Followers,

Today, I am reaching out to share some unfortunate news and ask for your help and support. On Monday morning when my assistant and I arrived at the site for a survey, we found the trailer where we store all of our archaeology equipment during the field season was gone. The trailer and gate locks were cut and the trailer was taken through the site gate. While the police are working hard to investigate, we are moving forward with a plan to make sure we have the supplies we need for the start of field school in less than two weeks.

If you are able to provide some support, we would greatly appreciate it! Donations would be extremely useful as we work to acquire supplies. The Niles History Center is assisting us in this process and donations can be made to them by noting it is for “archaeology.”

There are also a few items you may have around your house waiting to be repurposed:
1. Empty prescription/medicine bottles which are perfect for storing small artifacts.
2. Yellow Tidy Cat Buckets that we use to collect the soil we remove from the units in order to be screened.

Material and monetary donations can be made at the Niles History Center during business hours. Again thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you on site!
