This just in from our friends at the Active Transportation Alliance: SAFETY STOP UPDATE!
"Last week the state Senate voted on the Safety Stop Bill (SB2111) which would allow bicyclists in Illinois to treat a stop sign as a yield sign. The bill moved forward! Between our action alert and an alert from Ride Illinois, 57 out for 60 Senators heard from constituents who asked them to vote yes – thank you for your help! The general assembly is now on a break, but things will pick up again late April/early May when this bill will move to the House. We’ll keep you update on this bill and others – May is going to be a busy month so stay tuned for more action alerts coming your way."

We can make our region for safer for people who bike. Please show up at the Park Ridge City Council chambers (505 Butler Place) at 7pm tomorrow night, Tues, Sep 3. The Council will be voting on an agreement with IDOT to make Busse Highway safer for people who bike. It's a great opportunity to connect our communities. See you there!
