Warning long thank you post! WOW! What a day! There are not enough words to express the gratitude that all the people who made today's Day of Donation a success!!! We had so many wonderful volunteers! We had so many of you wonderful people bring in donations for 7 local organizations that help people in need. You all really made a difference in our community and in people's lives! We got enough cards signed so every resident of the Niles Care Center gets one! Cub Scout Pack 587 Niles, MI did great helping with unloading and sorting the donations and they did well at their bake sale! Friends of Berrien County Animal Services brought a cat and through one of our volunteers he is now at his forever home and got pet food and more the help their cats and dogs! Toiletries, food, toys and gifts for kids, clothes for Apryll’s Closet to help foster kids, the Closet on 4th, warm winter gear and so much more for Ferry Street Resource Center and so much more! EVERY organization left with NO ROOM in their SUVs for stuff. Some filled more than one vehicle! This community continues to amaze me and make me proud. A HUGE thank you to Father Christian at St St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Niles, MI for letting us use the gym. Thanks to all you of you a lot of pets will have food, a lot of people will have food and toiletries, many will be able to keep warm this winter, foster kids and kids the The Salvation Army - Niles, MI. serves will have clothes and Christmas gifts, A lot of elderly folks will have treats, arts and crafts, puzzle books and more. Unhoused people will be able to do their laundry and have clean clothes. Babies rumps will have diapers. Dignity. Compassion. The realization that we are all on this planet together and if we are going to survive it will have to be together or not at all. All of this and more was realized today.
