Tioga Acting Guild Inc. (TAG Inc.)

Tioga Acting Guild Inc. (TAG Inc.) Community Theater Tioga Acting Guild, Inc. (TAG) is a not for profit theatre group, with an unusual mission. This makes TAG very unique in the theatre world.

TAG’s purpose and mission is not only to offer entertaining theatre for the local community, but to also use its theatrical endeavors to donate to local charities. TAG is located in Tioga County, NY, but its audiences have been far reaching; drawing from surrounding counties. TAG has been in existence since 2006, when two moms envisioned a theatre group that would allow every student who was inter

ested in theatre to participate in one way or another. TAG went on to offer improvisational workshops to the students after school. They performed skits and sketches, introducing many first time actors to the stage. Since then, TAG has moved on to the community theatre world, and has been performing shows to benefit not for profits. Since TAG was not an official company, it could not take in funds or receive donations to offset its costs. All proceeds went directly to the organization that was to benefit from their performances. TAG has now ventured out on its own, becoming its own corporation and has applied for its tax-exempt status. This will enable TAG to invite businesses and individuals to sponsor them in order to see their mission fulfilled. Through TAG, business and individual supporters will be indirectly donating to local charitable organizations while helping to sponsor theatrical events for all to enjoy.

Well, it is with much sadness that TAG is announcing its dissolution. It will be publicized very soon, so we wanted all of our TAG supporters and participants to know. The main reason the board voted to dissolve TAG is that it no longer has a venue for the dinner theaters as the school voted to rent out the gym\stage\kitchen to a business (I believe Tioga Downs). The other reason for the board's decision is that Mike and Robin (incorporators) were planning on phasing out from the responsibilities for running TAG for personal reasons. As there is no one to step into the positions, the board decided to dissolve TAG.

It was a tough decision as we have had so many wonderful experiences practicing and performing great theater! Thank you, thank you, thank you each and every one of you who have been involved with TAG, even if it was just coming to a show. We have nothing but great memories as we close this chapter. We will keep the page so people can reminisce and look at the multitude of pictures\memories.

TAG will be selling\donating its set supplies to the T.C. High School Drama Dept.

Here is the recipe for the yummy dessert we enjoyed!
Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 T butter, melted
2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
2 T flour
1 T cinnamon
2/3 cups nuts (optional)

Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
5 T milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
With an electric mixer or stand-up mixer, mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, milk, eggs, and vanilla. Once combined well, slowly stir in 4 T melted butter. Pour batter into a greased 9x13" baking pan.
In a large bowl, mix the 2 sticks of softened butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nuts until well combined. Drop evenly over cake batter by the tablespoon and use a knife to marble/swirl through the cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out nearly clean from center. Place powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. Whisk until smooth. Drizzle over warm cake. Serve warm (we like it straight out of the oven) or at room temperature.

Great closing show today! After I get over the extremely exhausted feeling...I'm sure we'll be talking up what the next show will be....yeah..we're all nuts like that! Great show everyone!!!
