Happy Earth Day, Oklahoma! π
Did you know Oklahoma is one of only four states with more than 10 unique ecoregions? An ecoregion is a distinct area of land or water characterized by shared environmental conditions, like climate, geography, soils, and natural vegetation. From the High Plains of the Panhandle to the cypress swamps of the South-Central Pine Plains, from the tallgrass prairies to the Ouachita Mountains, from the Ozark Highlands to the Cross Timbers, Oklahoma holds more ecological diversity per mile than any other state in the country! Today, and every day, Keep Oklahoma Beautiful tries to honor all of this diverse beauty.
