Hi, dear members of LTTC:

We, as officers of the club, have split up set-up and takedown duties. We've had a lot of assistance closing both Thursdays and Saturdays (thank you all), but set-up those two days continues to be a challenge. It will be greatly appreciated if some of you give us a hand with that. (Feel free to ask any of us for details about set-up & takedown details).

BREAKING NEWS: We have a new club rule:

On Thursdays, AT 9:45 PM…NO matches, NO practices can start to be played. ALL TABLES SHALL BE READY for takedown. PLEASE, act in accordance with that established request.
On Saturdays, AT 1:45 PM…NO matches, NO practices can start to be played. ALL TABLES SHALL BE READY for takedown. PLEASE, act in accordance with that established request.

Also, please mark your calendars for these upcoming changes in schedule…

No more Mondays play (AT Tates Creek). The *tentative* date that we will be able to resume play, might be Monday July 27th. We will confirm closer to that date.
Play at Providence will continue as scheduled on Thursdays from 7-10pm and Saturdays from 10am-2pm, with an exception for the first week of July, we will move that Thursday session.
Stay tuned for more special announcements.

Respectfully.
LTTC Officers.

Butterfly Dan Seemiller Classic 2026!

That event made history, and we are glad that some of our members were part of it. It was a sanctioned event hosted by Eastern Kentucky Table Tennis, and it is the official tournament of 5x National Champion Dan Seemiller. Everyone had fun, and it was a great opportunity for us to play, practice and meet with friends from twelve states. Also, a lot of learning from the former Olympic Coach and his team.

We would like to thank the organization: Easter Kentucky Table Tennis, especially Byron Risner, Dave Fullen and all the volunteers & members. It was a pleasure for our Lexington Table Tennis Club to be included in such a great honoring weekend.

"When you hit a winner, it is all about your mental state," Liu Guoliang.

The 2026 National Collegiate Table Tennis Championships got to its end. 250 collegiate athletes and 50+ colleges and universities filled the Sports Factory, in Rockford, IL last weekend.

Our LTTC is gratified by having been part of that event with two of our officers as volunteers: Vice-President, Elijah Cardona and Secretary, Hannah Brown. We thank them so much for their incredible dedication and hard work. Their efforts have made a significant impact on the running of such a great Table Tennis Event, and we are truly grateful for having them as part of our club.

Also, we congratulate our UK athlete and club member: Felipe Gonzalez on his outstanding performance at the 2026 NCTTA National Championships. He competed in Men’s Singles at what has been described as the STRONGEST National Championship field ever, Felipe, representing The University of Kentucky, rose to the challenge among a national lineup packed with elite players rated over 2000 and multiple competitors above 2600.

In Group 4, UK, alongside nationally ranked players from NYU, UC San Diego, and Columbia. He finished second in his group. Our club member advanced to the Round of 64, where he faced Kim Iwasaki (USATT 2461) of Dallas Baptist University. After a strong showing, Felipe concluded his run among the top 64 players in the nation. It is incredibly inspiring to watch him perform in every tournament. Felipe Gonzalez is a testament to what happens when talent meets hard work.

Thanks to all of his sponsors, those who donated and helped him collect funds for participating!

On behalf of the Lexington Table Tennis Club, we would like to congratulate some of our players that have competed in The Gold Dollar Dogwood Open USATT sanctioned tournament, held in Knoxville TN. We couldn't be prouder of their participation.

Not only do we practice at our club but also compete during the year in most of the tournaments scheduled. We always have fun, we meet a lot of people and the most important part is: the friends we make, and the pleasure of feeling the adrenaline rush of competition.

When we play in tournaments, it is always fun to win, but losing is sometimes more powerful, because we hone our skills under fire against different opponents, and under varying conditions, pressure, and different styles of table tennis players.

We want you to join us for our practice sessions, our practice matches and our community of players who are super enthusiastic about table tennis.
Every Thursday from 7pm to 10pm and every Saturday from 10 am to 2pm at 101 Providence Way, Nicholasville, KY.

Table tennis offers surprisingly great health benefits. Like most sports, table tennis offers great mind-body stimulation, aerobic exercise, and social interaction. Unlike many sports, however, the overall risk for injury with table tennis is quite low.

Some of the many health benefits of table tennis include:

Improving hand-eye coordination. An intense game of table tennis stimulates mental alertness and concentration and develops mental acuity.

Improving reflexes. Due to the fast-paced, short-distance nature of the sport, both gross and fine muscle movements are improved.

It’s easy on the joints. Table tennis is the perfect choice for people who had knee surgery, history of back problems, or simply those who are tired of twisting their ankles while playing some other sports.

It burns calories. Hate going to the gym? Try table tennis instead. It's a fun & easy way to burn calories.

It’s a social sport. Social interaction is very important for mental health. In a world so connected through technology, people are feeling more and more disconnected from each other. Table tennis offers you a chance to unplug, step away from the screen, and bond with the person on the other side of the ping pong table.

It keeps your brain sharp. Renowned physician, psychiatrist and brain imaging expert, Dr Daniel Amen, calls table tennis “the world's best brain sport” because it is highly aerobic, uses both the upper and lower body, and is great for eye hand coordination and reflexes. Table tennis also utilizes many different areas of the brain simultaneously as you are tracking the ball, planning shots and strategies, and figuring out spins.

Table tennis is utilized a treatment for dementia. Five years ago, the Sport and Art Educational Foundation started a table tennis therapy program, which was designed for seniors with early-stage Alzheimer's and various forms of dementia. Because table tennis activates various areas of the brain simultaneously, players can stimulate their overall state of awareness.

It improves balance. Staying balanced and being able to quickly change direction is key to being a good table tennis player. The more you play, the more you can improve your sense of balance.

Table tennis helps you build strength, speed, and agility without risking serious injury.

There a million of serious sports-related injuries every year, but with table tennis you can get all the health benefits of an Olympic sport without risking injury.
Convinced that table tennis is awesome? It’s time to grab a bat and unplug! (Killerspin Original Article)

We may not have brought home the trophy (electrifying matches and a 37-23 SITTA victory ), but we’ve fostered more relationships, passion & love for table tennis. In the end, the results will fade, but the memories and the bonds we strengthened will last forever.
Congratulations on a fantastic performance by SITTA & LTTC players.

"Winners never quit and quitters never win,"

Congratulation to all of our LTTC members that participated at the 2025 Bluegrass State Games Table Tennis tournament hosted by Eastern Kentucky Table Tennis.
Held in September, at the Morgan County Wellness Center, we all had a marvelous time with people we just met there or have been deeply connected by the tables.

What’s the true essence of Table Tennis?... Practice with passion and connect with friends.
Thanks to all of the team members from EKTT who made that possible…
