Our first Donovan Forum this semester is this Thursday at the Lexington Senior Center and on Zoom. The Primate Rescue Center, Inc is a nonprofit sanctuary providing lifetime care to over 40 primates, including a group of 8 chimpanzees and a variety of monkey species. Their executive director, Eileen Daillaire, will share the mission of the organization.

George rhesus macaque was so excited to receive a doll as enrichment and carried it around with him (and yes, chewed on it, lol) all day!
Many of our primate residents enjoy dolls and plush animals, and will carry and hold them for several days. George and his primate neighbors receive many types of enrichment to engage their minds and bodies and help them feel happy and healthy in their sanctuary home, and dolls are a big favorite amongst the monkeys and chimps.

Our amazing team of PRC caregivers had fun celebrating Animal Sanctuary Caregiver Day (belated) with a night of bowling! We're so thankful for all they do to give our residents a sweet sanctuary life!

We had a great time with members of the Frankfort chapter of Modern Woodmen of America during an Enrichment Workshop! After their tour of the sanctuary, they made some tasty snacks for the primates and spent time observing the chimps. Ike, Zulu and Noelle (left to right) were very interested in watching the group as they worked😃
